Risk Strategy Analyst (Experienced Hire)
About the Role
As a Risk Strategy Analyst, you will help design the decisioning logic that keeps Smartbright lending products safe, scalable, and commercially effective. You will collaborate across risk, data, product, and operations to improve underwriting, monitoring, and portfolio performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze borrower and portfolio behavior to improve risk policy and approval rates.
- Design and review thresholds, scorecards, and monitoring frameworks.
- Work with product and data teams to test new signals and decision logic.
- Document risk strategy recommendations for internal and partner teams.
Requirements
- 3+ years in risk analytics, credit strategy, underwriting, or adjacent analytical work.
- Strong understanding of credit decisioning, fraud signals, or borrower lifecycle monitoring.
- Ability to read data, identify trends, and propose policy improvements with minimal direction.
- Comfort collaborating with engineering and product teams in a fast-moving environment.
Nice to Have
- Experience with credit policy, portfolio analytics, or risk operations in fintech.
- Exposure to machine learning models or rule-based decision systems.
- Ability to communicate risk tradeoffs clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
